Station Upgrades

  • SEPTA is leading $23.4 million in station improvements in coordination with Amtrak and PennDOT.
  • Parking expansion and site work began October 2015.
  • New 500-foot-long high-level platforms to be constructed on each side of the tracks; construction began in 2016.
  • Improvements include new canopies, covered passenger waiting areas, and windscreens.
  • Station building to be constructed on eastbound side. New shelter will be constructed on the westbound (north) side, with expanded parking at the westbound lot.
  • Site upgrades including lighting, signage, additional bicycle racks, improved pedestrian access and circulation, stormwater management facilities, and ADA accessibility improvements.
  • Substantial completion of station improvements slated for Summer 2018.
