Proposed transit-oriented office building/learning center on Fleetwood Street adjacent to the new Coatesville Station (Oct 2014)
Work is being done in conjunction with the new station project, led by Coatesville Redevelopment Authority.
Includes Third Avenue streetscaping and redevelopment of Fleetwood Street.
Intent is to encourage transit-oriented development—a walkable and pleasant mix of residential, commercial, and office space—while preserving the architectural and historical elements of the original station building.
Third Avenue improvements will enhance walkability between the station and the Lincoln Highway commercial corridor, about four blocks to the south.
Will include making the station easier to find and use, and making the surrounding area feel safer and more inviting.
Design of the Third Avenue streetscaping was completed in February 2017. A construction contractor was selected in June 2017, with construction slated to begin in mid-2017 and be completed within approximately one year.
BEFORE: Current conditions on Third Avenue between Coatesville Station and Route 30.
AFTER: Rendering of planned improvements to Third Avenue pavement, striping, sidewalks, crosswalks, curb ramps, planters, lighting, and bicycle racks.
